Hello Blogland!! This has been a crazy busy week and next week looks the same! So many things going on preparing for Easter!

My little buddy Mr. Bill jumped off the porch yesterday morning and hurt his back leg. I was sure he dislocated his hip or broke it. We took a trip to the vet and thankfully it’s neither. He has a medial luxating patella in his rear knee and it popped out. The vet manipulated it back in and gave him some meds. He’s to take it easy the next week so we are carrying him around. Miss Kae does not like that at ALL!!! She is so jealous!!!  The vet techs all love him because he knows how to work those sad sensitive eyes!

Mr. Bill like Kae is a puppy mill rescue and spent the first 5 1/2 years of his life in a cage with Kae being abused. His little knees are a bit damaged now. He also needs to lose 2lbs!! We’ll all be on a diet now!

Mr. Bill and KaeKae. He's the nekkid dog!

Hello Blogland!! How is everyone this lovely evening?? The pollen count here in Maryland is the highest it’s been for this time in 13 years-and my sneezy nose and watery eyes can confirm that!!

Things are progressing on the project I’m doing for our church Easter program. Pictures to come soon! I’ve put good use of my Fine Arts degree with focus in multi-media sculpture to good use for this.

I spotted this blouse on the rack at Goodwill this week (well-how could I MISS it-lol) and fell in love with it! I adore bright colors and my motto is “If you can’t hide it-decorate it”. I’m finally dressing more as I am instead of hiding behind somber baggy clothes.

My co-workers all joked this blouse should’ve come with sunglasses because i was blinding them. I just laughed because i felt awesome in it!

The tshirt from kohl’s was practically Goodwill prices. I had Kohl’s cash from some gift buying, a 30% off coupon and it was on sale. I got 2 Croft & Barrow Tshirts for $5.93. Can’t beat that with a stick!!

Hiya Blogland!! A quick post before I head off to my exciting class!

I love gingham and I discovered I have four gingham blouses. All of them are a mini-gingham check-hot pink, aqua, navy and red. I’d like to get a black and white one also.  I find gingham to be so crisp and easily styled with other prints!

I felt rather preppy today!

Hello Blogland on this glorious spring day!!! I saw my first violets today. Oh how I just love them. Did you know the white and purple ones are also known as Confederate Violets?? I have no idea why but my grandfather told me this as a child. He also loved violets and had large areas of his lawn covered in them that he wouldn’t mow until violet time was past.

Speaking of violets-it brings to mind a bit of a poem I wrote in the 4th grade. It even was published in our town newspaper!!

Little Violets peeping up

Opening each purple cup

In the field, on the lawn

Dancing in the light of dawn

There’s more to it but I can’t remember!! I was in such a violet mood I broke out an outfit to celebrate!

Top-Dressbarb, Pants-Dockers via Goodwill, Vintage Scarf via Goodwill, Shoes via Kmart, Vintage purse via Goodwill

The scarf is Burinel, its silk and has the sweetest violets on it.  I got the blouse a couple of years ago on the clearance rack at the Dressbarn outlet. I brought a purple, aqua, apple green and coral one.  They were a bit too tight so I hadn’t worn them until recently and now they are getting a tad too big!!! I can take them in a bit to get more wear out of them.

I stopped by the Goodwill Outlet yesterday. It’s only clothes and everything is 50% off. They bring in stuff from all of the regional Goodwills so I get to shop stuff from stores not local!! I made a made a MEGA score and will be sharing pictures tomorrow!!!

Everyone have a wonderful evening!!!

Hello Blogland!!! How is everyone this evening!! Spring certainly has sprung here in Maryland! I’ve got to do some serious gardening this weekend!!

This is actually what I wore Tuesday. I wanted to be comfortable as I had school right after work. Nothing like going over permit codes for fun. AND I miss my quality time with my TV boyfriend Mark Harmon. Oh well, it’s only until May 1st!

Jeans-Mossimo via Goodwill, Top-Goodwill, Shoes-Lifestyle via Goodwill, Purse-Mat & Nate via Goodwill

I am definitely getting my money’s worth out of this purse!! It comes out at least once a week now!!  I have to say my egg-lo certainly coordinates well with the rest of the outfit!

I’ve had this top a couple of years. It’s a chiffon fabric and I love the colors and sequins. It gets a lot of play in warm weather.

I just noticed I have a fat neck.  Awesome.

Off to watch American Idol and do some homework!

Hello Blogland!! How is everyone this GORGEOUS spring day????  I decided to wear pastels since it’s so nice and of my male co-workers said I looked like an Easter Basket. O-k. Not exactly the look I was going for but whatever! The gals I ran into today loved the look.  One lady I had a meeting with about the renovation of her building was stunned that (aside from undies, jewels,  and shoes) the whole outfit was from the Goodwill and came in under $11 including the purse. She’s new to the area so I clued her in to the finer shopping locations. (She doesn’t wear my size so no competition for the goodies!)

My outfit was inspired by an outfit I saw in InStyle Magazine a couple of months ago. I get InStyle, Lucky, and the People Style mags. Itear out the pages of stuff I like. Heck, I’ve torn pages out of Better Homes and Gardens because something inspired me fashion-wise. You never know where inspiration can come from!

Here’s the picture of the inspiration:

Jacket-SagHarbor via Goodwill, Tshirt-StJohnsBay via Goodwill, Pants-CJBanks via Goodwill, Jewels-gift, Purse-Fossil via Goodwill($4) Shoes-Croft & Barrow via Kohls (big discount!!)

I had to go to the Home Depot after work today-which is CONVENIENTLY right near a Goodwill. Since my car has autopilot to thrift stores I had to stop in.  Glad I did because I scored a couple of goodies!!!

Groovy vintage 1960's silver lame purse in pristine condition-$3

I also scored another pair of shoes since I so DESPERATELY NEED MORE SHOES!!!!!  I love this color and wear lots of it so these will get mucho wear this summer.

Barely worn Lime Green Lifestyle Sandals-$4

I’m looking at all of my summer shoes and it’s looking like I’m going to need an intervention soon. The best part is I’ve probably spent less in total for all my shoes then some folks pay for one pair!! AND I have tons of good name brands like Dockers and Hushpuppy and Steve Madden!! So I consider it cheap fun!

Well–off to peruse the new Instyle Mag!!! I’ll be back blogging Wednesday nite. I have school tomorrow nite so I’ll be kinda tied up. There is NOTHING more exciting than a class on the International Energy Conservation Code!!!!

I’m linking up with Monday Mingle  and Silverstyles Trending with the Decades:Pastels and EverybodyEverywhere:Pastels

Have a great evening!!

Hello Blogland!!! How is everyone this weekend??? I’ve been off the computer a bit since the hubster’s blew a gasket and is in the shop. He’s having to use mine to do his homework-limiting my blog time!!!

Today I did my usual after-church “thing” while I was in Hagerstown and stopped by the Goodwill. The staff recognizes me as a regular-LOL.  I managed to pick up some nice goodies for under $20 total!

The olive pants are Venezia. They were only $3 and will become capris as they are a bit short. You’d think I was the Jolly Green Giant with my long legs. Unfortunately the upper half is stubby and chubby!! The blouse is a silky polyester short sleeve button front by Liz Baker for $3. I probably would’ve passed it by before I started blogging and reading style blogs. I’ve already mentally styled several outfits with it!! The stone khaki jeans are by CJBanks and were $3. I’ve been looking for a pair of jeans/khakis in that shade so I was THRILLED to find them!!

I couldn’t pass up adding to my shoe hoard!!!  This Goodwill always has great shoes. There must be a lot of shoe diva’s in Hagerstown that donate to Goodwill. I’ve been asked if there is anything special I do with thrifted shoes before wearing. I go over them with a Lysol wipe really well and then spray up with Lysol to kill any foot cooties.

Tan Loafers by Lands End (never worn)$3, Madden Girl Black Leather Kitten Heels $3, Dockers Black Leather Wedge Sandals $3

And now to today’s outfit. I started out with red jewelry but when I was getting ready to change out my purse I fell in love with the contrast of the aqua blue with the red, black and white. That aqua purse is sure getting a lot of play in my wardrobe! I decided to change out my jewelry to aqua blue.  My toenails were already painted aqua so even they matched!!

Jacket-Charter Club via Goodwill, Blouse-Goodwill, Pants-Black Denim via Dressbarn, Shoes-Chart House via Goodwill, Purse via Goodwill, Necklace-vintage thrifted.

The pants are another pair that I can now fit into again after several years. The blouse is white pin dots on black seersucker. I have another in orange with white pindots.  Outside of the pants the outfit cost under $20.

Aqua toes and red wedge sandals!

The hubster is making noises hinting he needs the laptop to do some homework. I will be so GLAD when this semester is over and he graduates!!

I’m linking up with Patti at Not Dead Yet for Visible Monday#38.

Everyone have a great weekend!

Hello Blogland!!!  Wow I can’t believe March is almost half-way over! Where is the time going?? I have my daughter’s stunt wedding cake done except final assembly. It looks really nice, It will have fresh flowers for the wedding but the stunt one has silk!! I’ll post a pic this weekend. I finished her wedding veil this evening. she just wanted a simple finger-tip length one. They are EXPENSIVE at the bridal shop–like $200. Her’s cost all of $20 to make!!!

I was doing the happy dance this morning. I pulled these jeans out of storage (I had put them away cuz they were TOO SMALL) WOO HOO–they fit again–in fact they are a bit loose!!!  My pair of black skinny jeans also fit again!!! Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Jean-Dressbarn, Blouse-Izod via Goodwill, Shoes-Xappeal via Goodwill, Scarf-Vintage, Purse via Goodwill

Did I mention aqua is one of my favorite colors???? LOVE it and when I saw this purse yesterday at the Goodwill for $4 I had to have it. And then I had to style an outfit to match!!!  You can barely see it but there is tan embroidery with gunmetal studs down the legs of these jeans.

Well everyone have a wonderful evening!!!! Off to watch American Idol!!
